Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 02:16PM Ahhhhh.....Middle America.....corn, bibles, Wal-Mart, gettin' married in your 20s, Bud Light, spanking babies.....wait a minute....I'm not harping on the fly over states here...Hell, I'm from Oklahoma and damn proud of that.....Apparently, Netherfriends spent some time there as well......Take a look at the tracklist from their 2012 effort "Middle America"....Every track is the name of a midwest city and state....And guess twhat?.....This album is badass....an awesome reflection of being in a tour band/pop sprawling rock/echoed reverb guitar (Ganglians style)/very modern sOUnd.....very good:

A new album from Tom Waits this year.....I could have been content with that alone.....Now, my other creative idol is venturing into music?....No way.....It just can't be true.....Well, get ready for this one.....David Lynch, is one of our true American living legends......When you watch a Lynch film you are encompassed by the dark, rich, weird imagery......underylying all of that imagery is an odd/vibrating/humming/soundscape that just simply takes you to another world.......It's no surprise that his new album, Crazy Clown Time, does the exact same thing:

Monday, October 17, 2011 at 03:31PM Oh boy....today might as well be Christmas.....Actually, this is better than x-Mas....The new Tom Waits is amazing. If you are a Waits fan......then this album is like a 'thank you' to his followers. It's gritty/bluesy/loud/raucous/and just plain and simple excellent in true Waits fashion.....I'll be listening to this one in my studio for the better part of what's left for 2011:
