Psychic Ills "One Track Mind" - 2013 LP

My last visit to New York someone threw me two pills.....A cab screeched to a curb and a staggering blonde hipster reached out her skinny arm.....Being a concerned citizen I examined the pillz....I had a choice.  Take the pill in my left hand or take the pill in my right.  Not known for moderation, I took them both.....The next 6hrs my eyelids weighed a ton, moments of fright, moments of pleasure, and all chop full of blissful terror....I imitated a zombie on the sidewalks, searching for the girl.  I found Hennipin's, Camel Lights, and dingy Irish bars.....Pretty sure I stumbled into a Psychic Ills show.....that, or the city was blarring the album through the drains, manholes, and buildings......Sacred Bones Records has a helluva lineup when it comes to psych-rock.....So if you like 'la especial' mushrooms in your tea from time to thyme....Sacred is the label for you:

Yo La Tengo "Fade" - 2013 LP

When you create something rad, people want a piece of it....I find my paintings on websites, ads, twits, tweets, facefucks....all the thyme (which is kewl)....Well, momma always said life is like a box of chocolates....You never know when you're gonna find a dick in it.....Wait a minute....that's not right....Anywho...Who created indie rock?  Was it Pavement? Do we go back further and pinpoint someone like Dave Clark 5? or Kinks?  I think Yo La Tengo started it.....Or at least the indie rock we know today....Hell, they're still making it.....Yo La Tengo has been doing it since the early 90s....and now here we are in 2013.....They're still breaking ground and making rad albums.....What a great start to the year......Fade is awesome......rock/indie/great guitar work/kinda chill but still rocks/great:

Tame Impala "Lonerism" - 2012 LP

I remember asking my dad why those frogs were on each others back....I remember relentlessly asking "What will Santa bring me this year?".....I probably asked him where babies come from and why is chocolate milk soooo effing good...Tame Impala made an album our kids will ask us about.....Matter 'o fact.....It's what you want for Xmas and taste better than chocolate milk.....A hypnotic/rock-droned out/Australian psych opus that is certainly one of the better albums you will hear in '012:
