Dr. Dog "Be the Void" - 2012 LP

Not gonna lie......this is my favorite thing I've EVER posted online.....Yup, no shit......Why?...Introducing the first ever wino-strut-Nation Ghost Writer.....Yeah that's right....I figured it's time to mix it up....to progress....So, I went after someone.....someone so vile....so infamous and casually stunning that you just gotta read and stay tuned to see what he writes next.....Introducing:  "Billy Mackerel":

    from Billy:

Dr. Dog, "Be the Void"  2012 LP - I have to say, growing up in NY, I've hated Philly sports teams and their fans with a  passion....but their CREAM CHEESE....their fukin CREAM CHEESE!!!...MAN OH MAN, is their cream cheese good!!...I'd smear that shit on anything and eat it!  Cream cheese AND Betsy Ross... I'd smear her on anything and eat it too.  Gross but delicious! ANYWHO's, I'm sorry...DR. DOG!! PLEASE TELL me you've heard of these guys!... Philly's Phinest!  Conan O'Brien has been swinging from their cheese steaks since they released "Easy Beat" in '05....(a fantastic album, no doubt).  Easy Beat was album #2.....Be the Void is album #6 and hands down the best album released since taking #2 all over late night.  It has that same rootsy-raw-lo-fi-60's psychedelic-indie-baroque-ass-pop sound but this time with an Afro-beat twist.  No surprise, considering they picked up the insanely talented, Dimitri Manos, of Tucson alt-alt-cuntry band Golden Boots, who was also recorded on Easy Beat, and brings a flavor of funky multi instrument fun that makes this album great.  Injections of slide guitar, steel drums, and electronic sounds add great texture to the album and progress Dr. Dingo from completely repeating their past. To he honest, Dr. Dog's has never been known for their prolific lyrics but their catchy tunes and dancy psych-pop-rock beats will definitely put a smile on your face.  Guarantee you'll listen to "That Old Black Hole" on repeat. at least for a little while.

Highlights:  That Old Black Hole, Vampire, Warrior Man
