Friday, July 20, 2012 at 03:20PM The longer I am a full-time artist, the less I see genres....The less there is a difference between rock and jazz....The less there is a difference between portrait painting and say....installation.......At the core they are all a pure expression of the human condition....A person's vision or the collective vision of a group....An artist is typically obsessed with a number of other artists.....These obsessions are labeled as "influences"....All great artists study their influences....Purity Ring are an extremely unique duo with a lot of influences.....some are bands....Kraftwerk, My Bloody Valentine.....some are performers.....Brian Eno, Patrick Gleeson.....and some are certainly substancesssssss.....Ha....For a debut album, "Shrines" a is very very good album.....electronica/synth/female airy vox/heavy lyrics/ethereal/excellent:
