Antoni Tapies passed away today (Feb. 6, 2012). Antoni is regarded as one of the best Abstract European painters of all time.......His Barcelona roots and truly unique style has influenced contemporary art for decades......notice the similarities in his work to that of Julian Schnabel.....remarkable:

Trends come and go......(any jigga know) (whatever that badass line is)...Good musack is timeless. Good, "World Music" is certainly timeless and hard to find. Rodrigo Y Gabriela do it better than anyone around.....this flamenco guitar work and percussion is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiCK.....with a capital K....(ewww, not cool).....spanish rock/world music/flamenco/every kinda of drum imaginable/instrumental....oh did i mention Santana makes a cameo:

Oh mane.....I gotta big confession.....Yes, I had heard of Air....however, I never really sat down and gave 'em a shot....Holy shiot Batman.....They're rad.....Their 2012 effort "Le Voyage Dans La Lune" is spectacular....My only question: "Is this album their take on the movie of the same title?"....Judging from the (horrible) album cover I'd say YES it is......Remember the tunnel in the original Willy Wonka?....Well, imagine that but instead of being jacked up on candy, you took a handful of mushrooms......mmmmmmmm mushrooms....ambient/sonic sound scape/spoken word/airy lyrics/lots 'o tangs going on...thanks for this Boseph:

Oh wow...I'm about to post a jam band....NOOOOOOO!!! Well, who gives a shit....If the music is good it transcends genres.....Like every album I've ever written about....this one is spectacular.....And yes....moe. is a jam band. At this point moe. is a legendary jam band. They bring it live and i would highly recommend seeing these fine musicians in person very soon. My favorite thing about moe. is that they kill inside the studio (this is their 10th album). A majority of jam bands are often guilty of melting faces live and never quite recreating that inside the studio......moe. has a slew of rad studio albums and "What Happened to the La Las" is no different:

I made 2 great decisions today....1. To do some sketching on the beach....2. Put on the new Tennis album whilst drawing.........So the story of the band Tennis is that of folklore at this point.....Their first album came to the band on a boat while sailing the ocean blue......Neoooow with their Sophomore album the band recruited Black Keys drummer and burgeoning producer Patrick Carney. The result?....A mature/pop/clean produced/power pop/hints of doo wop/rad female vox/magical goodness.....A great album and fun listen:
